The Time is Now

There’s always time to do something larger than yourself or be a part of something for the less fortunate. Here’s a couple of things you can consider doing if one of your regrets from 2013 was to not have done things for others more than yourself, because I promise there’s more meaning in that and the feeling of giving is the greatest satisfaction and truest act of love you can challenge yourself to experience.

Here’s to a fruitful January, and a 2014 with no regrets!

Looking for volunteers for an event on the 8th of February 2014!

Ain Society is looking at having 400 volunteers to help distribute 50000 daffodils from 12noon to 2pm all around Singapore near MRT Stations. The Daffodil is used by the cancer society to help create awareness for cancer. It is representative of hope and celebrating life to the fullest to those who are battling cancer. At the same time, it gives appreciation and applaud care givers by recognizing their efforts as well as their unwavering and unconditional love.

  1. Hi Shermaine,

Love your blog and the topics to discuss! SKM is currently on the lookout for bloggers who has a personal interest and disposition to kindness and societal issues. Inspired by the popularity of social media, SKM has created a new platform that works off user submissions. We’ve called it ProSocial, with dual reference to both altruistic attitudes and social media savviness.

In essence, it is a blog moderated by our staff that will publish stories, artwork, photos or even shoutouts from users as long as the message is related to positive values like kindness, empathy and compassion. In the long run, ProSocial aspires to be an online community that draws together people who are inspired by positive stories.

We are in the process of setting up a reward system to motivate members to contribute stories to the site. With enough points, you will be able to redeem gifts from our corporate partners in the future.

The blog is currently live at http://kindness.sg/prosocial/ and our information page can also give you more information on what this project is about. Registration is fuss-free and will only take a few minutes: http://kindness.sg/prosocial/my-account

Hope you will consider contributing your thoughts and help us build a community of pro-social individuals.

All the best with your O’level results! 🙂
